Default How does fuel injection work on 1100STX

OK here is a simple question. If the fuel injection system of the 1100 STX works on 45 volts (per the manual) and the ignition system also works on 45 volts then how can there be a option to test these systems with KADIAG when the boat is not running? I can understand the boat producing 45 volts from the generator when running but how can a boat just sitting there in diagnostic mode run static tests that require these higher voltages? Am I missing something here? Does the computer generate these voltages somehow? The only reason I ask is because when I run these tests now nothing happens. Only the static test for fuel pump works however the fuel pump is rated to work at 12volts.

Thanks for the input
