Default 1100 STX flushing issue and question

Runs cool in the bay no problem but on the hose the head gets too hot to touch. Have discussed this before and I am pretty sure I have an air lock issue with the hose connected preventing water flow thru the head. My question is, can I put a fitting in the actual cooling line from the pump and flush it that way (I realize I would have to add valving and the dangers of that) to make sure I get a good flush thru the entire cooling system? This ski's fate was due to oxidation buildup blocking the cooling passages and I want to prevent that from happening again. Thanks, Kevin
