Default New solas install...feels too tight!

I just had my local ski shop install a brand new solas prop in my 88 650sx pump and it feels too tight for my liking when trying to spin it. You have to use quite a bit of force to turn it and feels like one spot is tighter then others....they said its fine and needs to "wear in", but i dont want to risk ruining my new expensive prop....from what i can see, there is light coming through all
Places where the blades are against the housing so
I think it is something else....can u tighten these too tight or wrong? Is this normal? Thanks

No, you can't overtighten the impeller onto the shaft. It is threaded, and the butt end of the impeller mates against the shoulder of the shaft.

Were the bearings good, did it spin freely before?

Chances are that the blades are making contact with the wear ring if everything was good in the pump.

rather b tight than loose. I just had a prop back off cause it was improperly installed. I have an xi and with mine you cant turn the impeller because it turns the motor over so its mad hard to turn
