Default 2008 STX-15F hesitation when accelerating. Help...

I have two identical 2008 Kawasaki STX-15 Jet Skis with 50 hours on each. About a month ago we took both of them out and used them with no problems. They were filled up with 10% ethanol gas when used, I let them sit and filled both of them up again. They sat for one month and we took them out last weekend. One of them runs perfect and the other one has a hesitation while accelerating. It seems to run fine on top end but just had a hesitation when taking off. It will be hesitating and then all of a sudden seem to clear out and accelerate and reach top speed with no trouble.

Is this a problem with using ethanol and letting it sit for 4 weeks (one runs fine with the same gas)?
Does this Jet Ski have a fuel filter?
Spark plugs need changed?

If anyone can get me pointed in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. If you have a PayPal account I will gladly send a few bucks for getting me headed in the right direction for things to check.

Thank you!

Wink Ethanol Gas

Stay away from ethanol gas especially when the equipment using it sits around for week at a time.

Ethanol gas is only stable for around 100 days; after that, it begins to phase out of the gas. The ethanol is very hygroscopic (picks up water rapidly). It is also a solvent that will destroy rubber and plastic gas line, floats, and other engine parts.

You may have water in your carburetor or small rubber pieces in your gas filter, who knows.

Try draining your carburetor bowls to get rid of any water thet may have settled there and change your gas filter.

In the future, when you know you will have a long storage time, use non-ehtanol gas or get the additive that can be used to counter-act the ethanol problems.

Do you know by chance where the fuel is on this model?

You can use gas treatment to get rid of your water instead of draining your bowls. I use Sta-Bil gas treatment everytime I get gas for any of my boats. Sta-Bil also has an Ethanol treatment you can use to each time you fill up your boats.

Get on ebay and purchase a service manual for the units that you have. This manual will show you where everything is and how to take care of it.

Good Luck. {:O)
