Hey all, sorry for the long first post but I need some help from the pros.
I was riding my 750 ('98 750 STX) about 15mph. There was some sort of clunk, then I totally lost thrust. I jumped in and check the intake grate, all was clear. Got back on and started it, everything seems fine until I give it some gas. The engine revs like normal and jets water out the back, but I don't go anywhere, there is literally NO thrust. The best way I can describe it is it's like a car with a bad clutch. My wife said it looked like all the water was coming out of the right side of the rear.
Towed it back, put it up on the trailer, intake was still clear. I started it, shaft turns and impeller turns, but it seemed "klangy", like a marble being shaken inside a tin can.
Well, when I got home I pulled the ride plate, intake grate and venturi along with the stator vane cone. Everything looks OK except some small chips off one of the impeller blades, which I can't imagine is causing this problem.
The couplers, PTO and driveshaft all appear to be fine. I have pulled everything off and for the life of me I can't figure out what would be causing this issue. Mind you, I've never had PWC's before, but I'm still just sort of shooting in the dark.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
