i have a 91 650sx that recently started giving me problems it will run great on the trailer when i put it in the water it will still run good untill i get on it then will die right away. i thought it was a fuel problem so i went threw the carb and its still the same if anyone can give some kind of advice i would appreciate it alot! im fairly new at working on jetskis but mechanically incline so i would really rather fix the problem myself rather than put it in the shop

how are your plugs man? these things are notorious for blowing through them. and while you have it out go ahead and do a compression test. 130psi is on the low side of healthy. also if your sure the carb is rebuilt/setup right and you still have good compression, you could have bad crankshaft seals that are letting primary compression leak out of the crankcase. if this problem exists, your fuel pump will not operate properly and it doesnt always show in the compression test.

thanx im going out again this weekend i will check the compression and try a new set of plugs
