I have a 1997 ZXI 1100 and need to replace the starter. I removed the bolts but the starter won't budge. In looking at the replacement starter it appears that all that is holding it in place are the O rings. I don't see any way to get any type of puller or to hit it with anything. I've tried for more than an hour to pull it with just my hands and it won't budge. Anyone have any suggestions?

Stick a thin blade screwdriver between front of starter and crank case.it will pop right out.

Thanks for the reply pwcpro. I have'nt removed the exhaust manifold and I can barely get my hand in to grasp the end of the starter and pull on it so I can't get a
screwdriver in there. I was hoping to get it out without removing the exhaust.Is it possible?

hey Ive done hundreds and never removed exhaust on that model. trust me there is room
