I'm working from memory here, without checking my manuals & diagrams... but here goes:
The 900 & 100 ZXI are essientially similar electronics as far as the motor goes.
The KATS system, added in '96 I think, uses a slightly different Trim Control box. I know some guys have interchanged the trim boxes, but one has 8 wires & one has 9 wires, so they do something to handle that. The KATS system has an override that forces the trim full up whenever you select reverse. You had to do that manually in '95, and you have to do it manually in newer ones if they don't work right. The trim systems are a weak link in the Kawi's design... most fail eventually. I removed one of mine (it rides OK to me, just made a bracket to hold mid-position), but I do still have a '95 with working trim.
