Default 1993 Polaris SL650

Hello all, first time on forums, hoping for some increased knowledge.

The above mentioned ski has had a long history of broken and repaired. Motor has been rebuilt once about 8 years ago. Last year dumped $1500 into her to have them completely go through engine since it sat for 3 years. Took it out for 2 rides, worked great first ride, second ride lasted 5 minutes, and engine would only idle/rev to 5mph, all power gone. Had similar experience when piston blew the first time and why engine was rebuild 8 years ago. Did compression test, #1 was 110, #2 was 50, #3 was 105. Pulled head off number 2, piston looked pretty good actually, no holes and good color. Cyl head gasket looked ok, didn't appear to have a leak, but I am ordering new ones just in case.

Could bad piston rings be causing that much of a drop? I would expect to see a little drop but not that much.
