Default Polaris SLH700 Air/Fuel

Hey, i just picked up a 1999 Polaris SLH700 that had only 12.9hrs on it. I took it out on the water this last weekend, ran great! When it gets hot, it is difficult to start, i have to choke it all the way to get it started even when its hot. I was thinking it was a gas issue, my machine not getting enough gas... but when i looked under the seat i noticed the airfilters/carbs were loose!!! Could a loose air filter on a carb cause too much airflow and mess up the ratio??? Havent been able to ride since bolting down... THANKS FOR YOUR INFO!

It could mess it up. Im very new to PWC but ive raced many 2 stroke dirt bikes and some 4 wheelers. Many if not all 2 strokes are very very picky when it comes to stuff like that. even a few cheap knock off china made 4 wheelers run like poo if the air filter isnt hooked up. Make sure you adjust the carb right! if not then the hot issue will still be there. Also get yourself some new spark plugs if your going to mess with the carb. you may foul out a plug or two.

Ya that's what I'm thinking. I've ridden 2 stroke bikes for years and the smallest think can mess up your air fuel mix. I just replaced the plugs aswell. Gonna try it this weekend and see what happens.

Testing is your best set. If you know 2 stroke bikes then it should be the same concept.
