Default Is a Polaris SLT700 a good starting PWC?

Hey all, new here.

Ive ridden a jetski once in my life, was a Polaris 500 something I think, lol. Anyways, I have a chance to trade my snowmobile & two place trailer for a Polaris SLT700. From what I've seen from the book value, my sled & trailer are worth a bit more then this PWC, but I really wouldnt mind having one for the summer, so it kind of interests me.

He says its a 1999 SLT700, but from what I've seen, 97 was the last year they made this model?

Also, are there any problems with this model I should know about? And what questions should I ask prior to trading if I decide to? I already asked for engine shots, hull shots, and exterior shots, here they are.
