I have a polaris sl 750 that when I go to start it up, it immediately starts and runs wide open until I shut it off. Throttle and cable seem to be working fine, it just takes off wide open as soon as it fires up. Anyone have any ideas what this could be? Thanks

R U sure the cable isn't out of place somewhere? OR - have you checked the carbs themselves to see if they stuck wide open?

the butterflys are closed, like its getting air from somewhere else.

That would have to be a "massive" air leak to cause it to rev wide open ???

I would over haul the carburetor's (completely) w/carb. kit, check and clean all ports and passages, make sure jets (main & pilot) are very clean and you can see through them. Replace all intake gaskets and double check your high and low speed screws for proper adjustment, make sure all carb. linkage is set correctly and nothing binding. Good Luck

i have slt 700 thats doing the same thing ran goon on the watyer then started it up to blow water out and it started running wide open took carbs off good running ski and it still does the same thing so iam in the same boat
