Default What RPM's should a 700 or a 780 run?

I was riding some friends waverunners today one was a 700 twin and the other was a 780 triple. I ride sleds for over 7 months out of the year and there sweet spot on the RPM's for a twin is around 8000 and the triple is around 8500. Now I know these are different animals then sleds but I thought there was more to be had then what they were spinning at.

the twin would only hit 6000 and the triple could slowly get to 6200, is that right on the money or are these two machines off by 2000 rpms. Let me know what you guys think on these pwc!! thanks!!
