I have a 96 900 bought it a couple months ago, ran rough on first test drive and guy said the carbs needed cleaning since they hadnt been run for a while. It also had old gas in it. Took it home and emptied the gas out. Took the whole tank out as well as the fuel pump/gauge. Took it out and woulnt run over 10 mph. My mechanic friend pulled the carbs and they were pretty clean but had alot of oil. He said it was dumping too much oil and adjusted it on the throtle cable. Ran great on the trailer, got in the water and same problem, the fuel light keeps flashing, with full tank of gas. I beleive it is in limp mode and thinks there is not enough fuel. Any suggestions?
