Default 1995 sl 750 got wet

i was on the river yesterday and all of a sudden the ski started to run really funny it wasnt getting full power "like only running on 2 cylinders" i got to the beach took the seat off and was shocked to see that the hose adapter for running it out of water had rattled off and was filling the hull up with water. there was only enough to just barely touch the bottom of the crankcase. i got it on the trailer brought it home, sucked the water out with a shop vac and left the seat off to let it dry. today i went to start it and what do you know it started right up and ran fine like nothing ever happened. could the water have made it run funny? any help is always appreciated thanks, Colin

New to this forum.

I have a 1993 750sl and had a very similar issue (kid forgot to put the plug in before launching the machine). But mine won't run wide open any longer. Fresh fuel, and it has (what appears to be) decent fuel pressure. But when you try to run wide open, it seems to either be flooding or starving itself. Do you have to run premium only in these machines? Also, there appears to be water droplets on the throttle plates. Could my water separator be bad (I think that's what that thing is next to the fuel pump)?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The fuel filter is fine. Checked that last night. Plus, like I said, the fuel pressure seems good (pulled the fuel line off of the fuel pump). It seems to run a little better if the choke is partially closed, which upon second thought today, is telling me that I probably have dirty carburator issues. I'm going to buy some Seafoam on the way home, and see if I can get it running better using that. Stupid ethanol crap. I can't find real gasoline anywhere anymore.

My mother gave this machine to me after my father passed away, and I don't know very much about it yet. And unfortunately, I can't get any answers from him these days. I also can't find ANYBODY that will work on it around here (IL side of the river from St. Louis).
