Default 2001 Polaris Virage Carb

I have a 2001 Polaris Virage a coupe of years ago I ran into a problem where the craft idle was fine but when you gave it the gas it might go for a while and then bog down.....a guy repaired it said it had something to do with the carb (some internal part that can't be fixed).....I found a brand new carb about $600.....we replaced it worked fine for 2 years......but now it is doing the same thing....rather than spend an additional $600 every two years to replace the carb......is there any other cheaper and/or more permanent fix? If anybody has any suggestions please let me know

Default Polaris Virage 2001 Compression issues

Starts & runs fine until after a few minutes looses compression. Will only go 5-10 miles per hour as if something is stuck in the carburetor. Is there a fuel filter on this machine? Could this be bad gas? Sea foam was added & worked for a short distance.

It seems to take in seaweed when you accidentily run over top of some. This happened recently. We also have a river in Austin I can't go on due to hydrilla. It sucks this up too & will dog out. I see other jetskis with no problems with this.

I just read a post about a "carb" replacement @ $600??? Is that short for carburetor? And why does my jetski suck up vegetation when others don't?

Can someone make some suggestions?
