Default Riders Hit 90-Plus-mph at Mud Bug Nationals

Once again the Mudbug Nationals in Morgan City, La., was a huge success. Quite a few of the riders topped 80 mph, but even more impressive were speed runs of 90 and 91 mph.

The man behind the grassroots event—Jerry Gaddis, founder of the watercraft message board, www.greenhulk.net—posted a top speed of 91.1 mph on his custom ski. Gaddis, who has a Yamaha GPR hull with a Rotax Racing Sea Doo RXP engine (he calls it the GPRXP), said there were more than 200 PWC in attendance this year.
