first post of many introducing myself
hi everyone i'm havabeer
just got given and hand-me-down jetski and its an oldschool Kawasaki JS550 82 model, girlfriends dad gave it to us and assured us it was the 2nd ever one used on lake macquire nsw back in the 80's.
he says the motor is buggered. and the paint/rubber seals and all the rest look like they need some tlc. which will all hopefully come in time as i look to get it running for a bit of fun down on the lake, and the price of it makes it just right.
no doubt will have a few "how do i do this" questions but fairly mechanically minded and will probably end up buying a work shop manual (unless people can link to a free online one, if not i'll scan one up if i get it)...can do most mechanical jobs on my car (swapped/rebuilt engines) and i'm an apprentice fitter at a power station so definitely starting to learn about pumps, bearings and things of that nature.
any way hope to hear from a few of you on the forums
