Default Advice from the Experienced...

I have a 96 bombardier gtx. It is in pretty good shape (almost), has a cover, and on a trailer. Problem is the engine just locked up. Shop is wanting 1900 for rebuild (possibly $1000 only if crank is still ok). I just had a new starter put on, and I am not putting more money into it. This thing was fast, when it was working properly, well fast for being old.

My question is, what is a reasonable price to ask for a ski/trailer combo in this condition/age? Trailer is in good working order. I know for mechanical oriented people this could be a good purchase, just not sure where to start on price.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

With the trailer I'd ask around $800 obo. That way you have a some room to work the buyer. If you get offered $500 I'd take it. Best of luck.

Did the shop say it was the engine? A bad pump could keep the engine from turning over as well. What is your location?

Yeah, they said it was the engine. Showed me where the piston was scarred and wouldn't move.

I am in Chattanooga
