It sounds like the fuel sending unit is no good. The sending unit is located in the fuel tank. The sending unit is a simple riostate type sensor that uses a board with a painted conducter. It has a float with a needle that moves up and down along the painted conducter as the fuel level changes. The needle moves and changes the resistance which moves the needle of the fuel gauge or causes the low fuel alarm to sound. These sending units simply wear out. Make sure the sending unit has power. If ityou has power but doesn't work, its bad. You might be able to find one on ebay, but most likely its a dealer part. Hope this helps!
