New to forum but I have a gti 717 that cranks fine idles ok and drives good for about 15 to 20 mins then it starts to surge like it gets gas then it doesn't I took it to a shop they tuned it and said that it was good to go but that they couldn't drive it in the lake for ins purposes.any help would be appreciated.

look under your ski and you will see a black piece called the shoe.look through the opening of your shoe toward the impellar .once u see your impeller there is a black ring onthe perimeter about two and 1/2 in. wide. thats your wear ring.SEE HOW MUCH OF THE BLACK IS LEFT ON THE WEAR RING.just estimate the best u can and let us know. okay

thanks for responding.im new to jet skis so bear with me. ilooked under jet ski and it has a ring probaly about the size of a quarter laying flat. but i dont see any marks on it. i took the jet ski out yesterday and same thang. it starts okay idles ok until i go till it gets hot maybe 5 mins then it nothing but kicking in and out of throttle. maybe bad carbs?

upon further looking at youtube on what im looking for i noticed that there is an indention like a groove in the wear ring its not smooth all the way back. i hope this helps
