Default To Fix or Not

My 1995 XP broke a piston which played ping-pong throughout the motor. The shop gave me a $2000 estimate for repair.

I'm having a hard time with the decision to get it fixed or cut my losses.

I've only had the ski for a year, and only paid $1000 for it. It is very clean and did run great.

What would you do?

I'm gett'n her fixed. I figure at least I'll know where I stand with this one mechanically vs buying another unit that may have a costly failure after I buy.
