Default HELP!!! 99 Seadoo XP limited will not start!!!!

Hello guys. My ski will not turn on. I got water in by leaving my drain plugs open. It does not start just makes a noise like the starter is spinning but no crank. Someone told me that my starter or solenoid might not be engaging. It might just be spinning but not engaging. They said that the clip might be stuck or rusted because of water. what should i do. I do want to say that I am not an expert at this by any means. I spoke to a mechanic over the phone and he wants to charge me $350 for the part and the labor without even looking at it, so i am a bit iffy!!

I have the manual, but I am not sure which is the problem the starter, or the bendix possibly. And i am not sure how to trouble shoot for it. From responces on other forums i am told that to remove the bendix you have to lift the motor. . .

Try hitting the starter with a hammer and kicking it over again.

Worth a try.

Sounds like your starter needs replacing :P

Ok it was the bendix. It was striped. Now i am off to find a new or used bendix. Which ever is cheapest. . . If you have any suggestion, be my guest.

Always go for a quality item, you don't want to have issues again.

You get what you pay for.
