Unhappy 1999 Gtx-rfi

I'm new to the seadoo line. I can take a Kawa apart in no time but I just picked up a used GTX-RFI. It seems the engine is locked. The woman I bought it from did not maintain anything and the Doo has been sitting for over a year...maybe more. My question is should I try to turn the crankcase (if yes, which part should i try to turn?) and free up the engine or just suck it up and take it to seadoo for a engine rebuild? Does anyone know ball part what that would cost?

Remove the spark plugs. On the back of the motor remove the light grey plastic coupler cover and see if you can turn the PTO by hand. Mike

Thanks! I broke it loose and it will now turn over with the spark plugs removed. I bought new plugs and installed...new battery..now when I hit the start button..it turns over maybe once or twice and then stops...then it won't try to turn over again until I remove the key. anyone have anyhelp they can give?
