Default 99 GTX Limited Acceleration Issue

When my Seadoo hits 5000 rpms it all of a sudden go wide open. It accelerates fine up to 5000 but goes wide open beyond. I can't accelerate smoothly above 5000. Could it be in my Rave valves? They are adjusted all the way down. It's very annoying when your cruising along.

Unfortunately thats the rev range when the rave valves open. So the sudden jump in speed is normal. All power valve engines do it. You can adjust it by adjusting the rave valves but you cant eliminate it.

I've talked to two other owners of 99 GTX Limited and they say they have uniform accelleration. I don't know why Seadoo would design a ski this way because you can't get gradual accelleration. If you were racing it I could see it. I tried to adjust the valves all the way up but it really didn't help. I may trade it now to get something with better performance.

Thanks for your timely response.
