Default 96 gti boggs slightly

can anyone tell me why it is my 96 gti wont quite reach top speed when gas selector is in regular run mode. when in reserve, the thing performs top notch but not the other. i guess its why the private owner presented it in reserve mode and told me a story why its the better thing to do when driving one. also, it runs at 51 mph with 2 people on it. should i be getting more speed over all? its a 717 cc. thanks

Default check your tank

Check your fuel tank sending unit, there is down tubs inside the sending unit, Sea Doo has a problem with breaking off higher up and then can not pull enough fuel to the carburetor's (lack of performance)

The fuel selector valves go bad after time along with the fuel lines. Cheap fix, replace all and you'll run fine again. Just did one this week. TThe baffles do go bad from time to time also but 99% sure it's the fuel selector valve $25.
