I have a 1997 seafood Hx been sitting up awhile. it will start and run for a few seconds and then die. And then won't start untill you let it sit for awhile. I drained the gas tank of old gas. Bought a new battery and spark plugs and they are firing. I also cleaned the fuel filter which was very dirty. Plz help!

I have myself just picked up a hx that had been standing for 2 years, and had almost the same problem. mine was a fuel issue.
Have you still got the grey fuel lines? if so bin em and replace, your carbs will will need to come off and be taken apart and cleaned, There is another filter in the carbs btw, Make sure your fuel pipes are on securely, oh nearly forgot your fuel selector switch will need cleaning out as well.
