Default Seadoo non starting problem. HELP needed please

Just bought a Bombardier Seadoo 800cc GTX 3 seater approx 1996. Bought as a non runner. Guy said it was running fine up to the point when his mate flipped it!
It now won't start. Have tried the advanced self diagnostic mode ( as per manual) and get 2 short bleeps. Assuming that the wiring hasn't been touched, is it likely to be the lanyard cap that is faulty?
Also noticed that the wire from the starter relay is quite warm, not sure if this is normal or if it indicates something! Have checked all fuses and they appear to be fine.
Any help or thoughts will be much appreciated. Thanks.

No, it won't turn over. Dials come on but no start.
When you place the lanyard in place you hear 2 quick bleeps!

Are you sure the battery is good?

Battery is OK. Have shorted the relay and found that the starter motor doesn't turn over so I assume that the starter motor is the problem!
