Default Need help with 96 gsx !!!

I have a 96 gsx 787, its acting like the carbs are gummed up, but the temp light is flickering at idle and stays on as you give it throttle, then the engine dies out. Im going to rebuild the carbs , just not sure why the temp light is on, could this be an electrical problem? Changed the plugs and made no change. Any help greatly appreciated.

Have you checked your cooling lines? Is water spitting out of the "tell tale" hole on the back?

Just a couple of thoughts..
