Default Exhaust 101 - which component is the stinger?

I have a 787 seadoo and need to know which component of the exhaust system is the stinger. Is this just another name for the waterbox?

thanks in advance!

Question

Not 100% sure, but on Skidoo snowmobiles stingers were reffered to the tips on aftermarket pipes with no muffler. Maybe it is the tip going into the water box.

Thanks. The ski is a 96XP if that helps.

Nice roostertail on the RXT! I've done the same on my ski by shimming the trim system and machining the R&D nozzles but can really only achive 15' of height (but its 70 or 80 feet long) because im close to running out of trim range for great holeshot.

The "Stinger" is the part of the exhaust that is between the exhaust manifold and the water box.

Typically it makes a horse shoe shape.

It's also known as an expansion chamber or a tuned pipe.
