Default 96 XP no fire in mid range

It idles good and will accelerate to maye 1 or 2K then starts cutting out (doesent die just starts missing). I put an inductive timing light on it and it goes to firing intermittantly. With luck I can monky with the throttle and get it past that spot and it will take off and run WOT fine but goes back to the same thing when I slow down to idle.

It runs just like it did before I did ANY work to it at all so I am pretty sure I can eliminate what I have done which includes:

-Cleaned the fuel tank, fresh gas
-New battery
-New plugs
-Rebuild carbs
-Confirm gas lines are good (replaced by previous owner)
-Confirmed fuel selector is good
-Confirmed pick up screen on sending unit is clean
-Replaced front electrical box (entire box). Now it seems mine is probably OK.

My next step is to look at the stator and trigger coil. I have not had that cover off yet. Any ideas? Any chance it might be the ignition coil?

Rebuilt the carbs again, changed the coil, replaced the trigger, confirmed stator operation, same thing. Forget it, sold it, glad to be rid of it. Will sell the spare parts on ebay. Dont think I will have another Sea Doo. Now I will work on a Kawasaki, if that wont work I will look for another Yamaha.
