Default Battery Charging Problem on 95 SPI

Hey

I charge my battery up and it sits a few days a holds a nice charge.
Then I stat it up, it cranks fine and I run for an hour or so and when I go to restart the battery is dead. Whats up with that?
Does the machine draw the battery down or should it be charging it back up while your running?

How long should batteries last on these dogs anyway and how should you maintain them to keep a good charge?

Default Get Honda Optimate

Honda makes a charger now that not only chargers your battery but runs a diagnostic every time you hook it up and then goes through varies functions to correct problem. Gone is the Stone Age of blind hope in your battery. Get a Honda Optimate.

ordered and aftermarket rectifier for it. $49.95...the Sea Do one was going to cost me $74.00 hopefully this will solve THIS problem then on to the dreaded grey fuel line issue.

I would put a meter on your battery and start the ski and see if the stator is charging up the battery. The rectifier only changes ac voltage to dc to charge the battery. If the stator is shot then there will be no voltage increase when you rev up the engine.

Thanks..I also got the same advice from a local mechanic. I did not think it was the battery but I replaced it and it ran fine this weekend. maybe the battery was just gone enough and the charging system in the machine not enough output to recharge it. Any way its working good right now.

Thanks all!
