Default What's this?

I just bought a 1995 seadoo xp with 717 engine. The first outing on it, it ran fine first 30 minutes or so. Then it started bogging down, then run fine for minute, then bogg down. I accidently pulled the lanyard and killed the motor. After that I couldn't get it to crank. The motor turned over but won't start. When I got it home i discovered the attached pics. The tubing was attached where i have it circled in red. I noticed this before I took it out but it was in tact at the time but when I inspected it after my troubled outing i noticed it in the condition in the pics. Why did they have this tied off and could this be my problem?

I did a compression test. Both cylinders registered 120 psi. I replaced the line and tied it off like they had it but can't remeber if i did the compression test before or after i replaced it. Would that have messed with the compression reading if that wasn't tied off. I just thought it was strange that both cylinders registered the exact same. I am totally new to this so please be patient

THis has nothing to do with compression. I cant see where this would be attached to anything. The hose your are circling should not have anything attached there. It looks like that one goes stright into the fuel selector. It shouldn't have anything in line with it. Sort of looks like a make shift "plug" of some sort.

You probabaly have a fuel issure if I was to guess. Check see if all your lines are secure, and no leaks anywhere. Turn your fuel cock to res and on and see if this makes a difference in starting. Also choke when you start and see if it cranks and keeps running.
