Default 96 GTI Dead Electrical - DESS????

I have a 1996 Seadoo GTI that had been running fine up untill last week. I had out and stopped the motor, when I went to start it again I got nothing. Took the key out and put it back and got no beeps. Pressed the Start/Stop button got one click and that was it.

Got it back to shore and recharged the battery, checked the grounds and connections - reinstalled fully charged battery and still get nothing when I put the key in. I took out the electrical box and checked the fuses - both the 15 and 5 amp fuses were fine.

I cleaned the DESS post and both keys but that also did no good. Am I right to assume that my DESS is shot?

You say it clicked, if it is giving one loud click/thud, than most likely your starter/bendix is froze.

so the starter/bendix being froze would cause the gages to shut down so there would be no response when the key was put in?

I am a little confused. Since you said it clicked, I assumed it was letting you try and start it even with the no beeping/gauges..... because those go out all the time. If it is not letting you start it and not responding to the key, it is more than likely the DESS or post. If you tried both keys its in the DESS post system somewhere.
