Default Starter and Soleniod Replacement

I have a 1997 seadoo gsi. I was having problems with the starter so i replaced this and the soleniod since a mechanic told me it was bad. The jet ski started up and seemed to be running fine but i removed the key and the starter motor seems to still be running. You can hear a buzzing noise. So i removed the battery to stop it from running . I reconnected it and the it the starter starts to crank with out the key on and with out me hitting the start button. Did i wire something wrong? anyone have any ideas?
