Default GTI LE will not reach top speed

We just had a new engine and oil pump put in our 2004 GTI LE. The SeaDoo ran great for about three days. No problems. Then in the middle of the 4th day it just started not running at the top speed. It also became hard to start. We let it sit for about 15-20 minutes and it finally started but still did not reach top speed. The next day, we replaced the spark plugs and the SeaDoo started with no problems. The SeaDoo still did not reach top speed. When we turned off the SeaDoo, it would not start and we just towed it back to the dock.

Any ideas on why the SeaDoo would just stop reaching top speed? Also, why it would become hard to start once it was warmed up?

Thanks.

Default

my immediate assumption is that the engine is overheating. it could also be a problem with the electronic control unit.

i would take it back to whoever put the "new" engine in and have them take a look at it.
