Default New PWC Owner; Few Questions

i just bought a 92 Seadoo bombardier xp 5851 and i want to do a bit of prep before i take it out.

the hull is a bit scuffed and is in dire need of a good wax buffing, the problem is i dont have a stand. i found this shop manual which states i can turn it 90 degrees up on its port side without damaging anything, is this common procedure?, how do you usually wax your hull?

there is a oil leak which i cant determine where its coming from, the previous owner thought it was the hose from the tank to under the engine on the starboard side, but in the bottom of the bilge it appears to be leaking more from the port side. its not something im too concerned with (as it is a slow leak), i will probably eventually thoroughly clean the bilge and put down paper towels to get an exact fix on it, but if there are any common places oil leaks from i would appreciate the input.

there is a dial on the port side below the handlebars and another next to the where the key go's and i have no clue what they are for, i would guess the one on the port side is a cutoff for gas and the one next to the key is a cutoff for oil?
