Default 95 GTX has problems.

Here is the deal. I bought this ski last week. It had a dead cylinder. So I had the upper engine rebuilt. Today I took the ski out to the lake for a shake down run. At first it ran ok, but not great. I rode for about 2 miles round trip, but at the end of the trip I lost power. I could only idle the ski back to shore. I pulled the ski out of the water and found one of the plugs was not firing. The plug it self was not firing not the wire. I replaced the plug with another plug and the ski started and was running good.

So round two back to the water, the ski takes off then just falls on its face and I can only idle back to shore. Pulled the ski and went home. At home I started the ski and pulled the PTO side plug wire, and no change in the engine sound. I pulled MAG side plug while ski was running and it dies. Checked plugs and they are both sparking. I checked Compression and it has good compression on both holes.

Now for the question. I read that i should change my grey fuel hoses. I will do that, but is it possible that the PTO cylinder is not getting fuel, but the MAG side is. This is on a twin carb engine. Or am I looking at another issue.

Ok so I pulled my twin carbs off and On the metering side of the carb there is signs of rust up to the blend lever, but the screws are rusted and when i tried to remove them the heads started to strip. Is there any chance that the rust did not make its way down to the jets, or do i need to find some way of removing the screws?

Ok so now for the update. I have sense rebuilt the two carbs, and reinstalled them on the ski, and I am still having the same problem. MAG side fires and PTO side does not fire. Same compression in both cylinders, and im getting spark on both plugs. Just for giggles i put the PTO side plug wire on the MAG side plug and the ski starts on the MAG side plug only.

So, with the ski running If i pull PTO wire off the engine will keep running, but if i pull MAG side plug off the ski will die.

Can someone chime in so that I can maybe get this ski running and have some fun before the end of summer.

try squirting a small shot of gas in the cylinder with a squirt can and see if it fires. if it does you have a fuel issue and something may be plugged. Is the plug wet when you pull it? The motor is a pump, if you have fuel, compression, and good gaskets, it should at least fire a little bit.

I tried to get just that one plug to fire by unhooking the MAG side plug and putting fuel in the PTO side carb and it coughed maybe 3 times but never started. Each time it coughed the starter disengaged.
