Default 1997 Seadoo GTX Strange Problem.

Have a problem with my 1997 Seadoo GTX for about a year now and it is driving me nuts. When I pin the throttle from a standing start it will accelerate up to plane and stick at 5200 rpm still holding the throttle wide open. It will stay that way until I momentarily back off the throttle and pin it again and it will go up to 6500 rpm immediatley and reach top speed. Also if you hold the throttle wide open when it is stuck at 5200 rpm and hit a heavy wave or wake it will jump up to 6500 rpm on its own. Just like you turned on a switch. Any suggestionss??? Could this be a sticking RAVE valve?, or an electrical problem with a rev limiter?, if it even has one.

You may try pulling the choke instead of feathering throttle.if it pick up you have a fuel restriction. When you hit a wave your pump has no resistance so it will Rev easily.
