I have been looking to buy a new ski and want something really fun to play on. I have been looking at the 2 posted but I do not really know much about then and there handling differences. I do know the HX is very maneuverable and just a play machine but how does the XP compare? Is it a lot more stable? Is it still fun to get rowdy on? Any input would be great thanks

The xp is definitely more stable than a hx. It is a great thrill ride. However, it is still very unstable comppared to most pwcs. A gsxl is a fun ski that is more stable

The HX requires you to start it up while laying in the water on one side and then pull yourself up. The 97xp is easier to get on from the back but that craft has water issues. If you wave jump with it there will be alot of water entering the craft. Trust me i had one and i got rid of it and got a 96xp and never looked back. A gsxl has the 951 engine in it and once they suck in some water there produce the death rattle and your pretty much buying a new top end. I would rec a 96-97 gsx with the 800 that is what i have and it
s a great ride! Don't look into one of the RFI models, they have electrical issues.
