working on a pair of these 1500cc jet skis. one of them needed a new starter relay and a new battery, problem solved. the other one needed a new impeler housing because the old one was broken to pieces. with that I also got a new wear ring and gaskets and bushings (old stuff was nasty lookin)

the first problem with this project is that apparently sea doo stopped making the plastic impeler housings and implemented a new aluminum one. so when replacing this housing you must make sure that your parts distributor orders the new one (different part number )

the second problem is that the wear ring doesn't want to fit in the new housing. it may need a little convincing.

the third problem is that the new housing is built slightly modified from the original version. there is a small hole (in the new version that is not in the old version) right where the impeler sits in the housing with a vertical and horizontal threaded opening.

My questions to somebody knowledgable in this topic are

1) is the wear ring supposed to fit so tight or do I need a completely different ring?

and

2) what am I supposed to do with the new holes in the housing? find a way to seal them off? or just leave them as they are?

They should have given you the plug for hole. Wear ring should be pressed in.
