Default Taking on Water

After working on my 97 Monte Carlo 1000 for about five months yesterday I successfully got it out on the Mississippi river and ran it. It started up, ran a little rough until it warmed up, but then took off and was fast enough to make my eyes water. I was pleased with how it ran, but I noticed when the ski was sitting in the water, water was leaking in around where the rubber exhaust connects to discharge outside the hull. Is it normal for water to come in here expecting the bilge pump to discharge it? When I operate the bilge pump I don't see it discharging, so I think that hose may be plugged.

I found the source of the leak. It is leaking between the hull and the flange that the exhaust flap seals against. I filled the hull with water with my garden hose, and you can see it leaking from behind the flange. I guess now I just need to figure out a good, quick curing sealant for there.

May be Ernest T will let you know if I'm wrong, but remember reading in one of his post about product call 3M 5200, talked like it was some good stuff.

Thanks for the info. I called the local Arctic Cat dealer and they recommended a silicone gasket goo called Ultra Black. I tried it and ran the ski before it cured all the way and it still leaked. I got home and slathered some more on and am waiting for it to cure more before running it again. I also found why the bilge pump is not draining. The flange that the hose is connected to busted off the bilge pump. I am going to see if I can jury rig something so this will start working again.
