I have 1998 aritcat ts770l that will always burn a hole in the rubber exhaust hose after about 4-5 hours on the lake. I was curious if anybody els has had this problem, if so what did you do to fix it. Any suggestion will be helpful.
Dumb question:
Have you taken a flashlight, looked into the stern's exhaust outlet, and check for any obstructions?
My guess if that looks fine, a partially clogged exhaust water box (muffler) or resonator.
I had the same problem with a 97 model. That is how I came to find this forum. There is a water inlet hose that attaches to the exhaust. On the 97 model it is easiest to trace it backwards from the water outlet on the left side of the hull. The hose will "Y" and the small hose leads to the exhaust. This is probably plugged. When I pulled mine out it was full of sand. I haven't had a problem since.
