Default low compression questions (many)

we have a 1994 tigershark montego deluxe,it seems to run good but its almost imposable to start. So tool it into my local dealer and they said it had low compression in one hole,i told them to put it outside and i would come and get it.Do you think its bad rings, maby a burnt piston? Is it worth fixing? Will the other side be next?Does the motor have to come out?The motor is a suzuki and the only numbers i can find on the tag are 06801j-452129 does that mean anything to anyone? Thanks for any ideas or help you might be able to give. Jon

no motor dont have to come out to fix, just have to take off the cylinders yeah i would fix it forsure, mabey just worn rings not too much work to fix it yourself if ya have any mechanical ability at all, if its running good while its going i wouldent think your piston is in bad shape but possible i guess im in the prosses of fixing mine now just had it bored and 2 new pistons going in it tonight cant wait to hit the water.
