Default Newbie questions, can I start a Tigershark out of water?

Hello, I bought a bucket of parts that came with a 94 Tigershark. I am going to put it back together starting tomorrow. The guy had the engine rebuilt and never put it back in do to an accident. My question is how do I start it afterwards? Can I do it out if water? I know outboards you need a barrel or attachment for the hose.

Yes you can run them out of water, but just not for very long. They heat up very quickly. My manual says you can run it up to 3 minutes without any water and no damage should result. Good rule is to get it running, then take it to the lake. lol

Ok thank you for the reply. I will get it to the lake as soon as I get it running. I seem to be missing some thing that goes between the motor mounts and the motor mount plate that bolts to the engine. Like bushings or something.
