I've just bought a 1995 Tigershark Monte Carlo 640, which I am told has a bad starter bendix gear.

I've got no maintainance manuals or instruction for changing this component. Has anyone here changed this component in the past? Any hints or tips that will help me?

you will have to remove the motor and then remove the stator houseing. you can go to my website and download the manual. my website is Tigershark

Definitely have to remove the motor from the hull?

if you want a easy life. you really dont have to but you will atleat have to have the front of the motor up in the air so you can remove the cover.
