Looks like whoever put this on used some kind of crappy gasket sealer on it... GARBAGE!

I'm just going to try a new head gasket first and see what kind of numbers I can get with compression.

Before any of you ask, I NEVER ran this engine without water being pumped through the cooling lines. I can't speak for the previous owners, though.

EDIT: Managed to get a new head-bolt to replaced the one that snapped. So that's out of the way.

Looking at $40 with shipping for a new head-gasket. Hopefully I'll have it here in a few days.

It's a 2 piece head-gasket. One piece on top of the other

I gotta clean all that old gasket sealer crap off, but other than that, everything looks fine. It doesn't look like there's a lot of hours on this engine at all.

Yep! Everything is in order for it to run except compression. Still waiting on the head-gasket to come in. Should be here sometime next week. The cylinder head and cylinder casing are good to go. No warpage, luckily.

I hear you on that... Pretty sure the previous owner abused the hell out of this poor thing.

I'll have it in tip-top condition in no time. I take care of my things.
