Default tigershark daytona 1000 cooling system question

hey all first time in the forum fairly new to the sport, just got a tigershark daytona 1000, brought it as a non runner and have more or less rebuilt the whole engine..... took it out for the first time in the sea this weekend. ran like a dream in the water however after getting it in i tried to start it on the trailer and it wouldnt go. after i got it home hooked it up to a hose to flush it of the salt water (didnt run the engine) now the entire crank case is full of water up to the carbs.

do you guys rekon i have a leak in the cooling system somewhere or is it because i put water into the cooling system with the engine off???

many thanks to anyone whom replys

No you don't have a leak in the cooling system, you flooded the motor by running the water with engine off. BIG NO-NO! We have been getting several of these post lately from new members. I wish people would get to the forum before touching their machines and learning you can't do this, not after when the motor is full of water.

Normally I'd say turn on the 2 stroke water fountain (meaning crank the unit with spark plugs out). Then after you see no more water go ride it hard for an hour. But your case since it does not start you'll need to somehow get that sorted first. If it cranks do the fountain ASAP.

cheers for the help mate, managed to get the water out and is running fine again now, think the reason it wldnt start on the ramp is because the sea was a pretty rough and a lil bit of water must got in the carbs while i was gettin the ski back on the trailer.

yeh realise now was a pretty dumb thing to do with the hose but dont worry ive learnt my lesson, and will be comeing here firstr before i do anything else to my ski.

thanks agian
