Default new member with 96 tigar shark

Hello all
I'm a new member looking for any info on the 96 tigar shark. Also looking for a manual.

I also have a 90's yamaha waverunner.

Any info on either skis would be great.

Thanks
Ry

It doesn't look like there is much activity on here, I'm not getting any help with my issue.
Here is a link to the 96 service manual:

What Tigershark do you have??

Thank you very much.
Yeah, I noticed not much activity on here. Thats unfortunate.

I think its a 1996 Tigar Shark Montego 640. Its yellow and blue.
Its my first one so I'm just learning all the basics.

Would you happen to know where to get a service manual for a early 90"s yamaha waverunner?
I have one of those too, and was looking for a manual.

You have the same one as me, I just bought mine on July 3rd. I got a great deal on two of them in excellent condition.

I'm not sure on the manuals for the Yamaha, you'll have to look around a bit. That's how I found the one for the Tigershark.

Thats awesome! Congrats!
Well, maybe we can help each other out. lol

How much did you pay for them? If you dont mind me asking.

I just bought them 2 weekends ago, paid $1200 all together for the Tigar shark and the yamaha and a trailor for both.
They both start right up without any problems.
The only prob I have so far is the tigar shark has a short gas line,(not sure which one,res or ON) so it thinks its out of gas when it still has some left but the hose wont reach it. I have to look into it this weekend. Dont want to run out of gas on the water.

Have you got to ride them yet?
I have not. I tried to last weekend but went to pick them up where I keep them and the tire on the trailor was flat. Had to fix it this week, hopeing to get them on the water this weekend if I can figure out the gas lin prob...

I've herd good things about the tigar sharks.

Cant find much info on the yamaha I can find manuals only back to 1998.

Did you get the manual for the carburator? I can give you the link to it if you need. I found it in here....

Got it from this guys website...lynnboy021
heres the link...it should open right up...

You got a good deal then, I paid $1600 for both skis and the trailer. From the original owner who owned a house on lake Ontario, his kids just grew up and they didn't ride them much. They were well maintained by a local marina and I have all the invoices showing all the work that was done and parts purchased.

They were stored in a heated storage unit every year and are in great condition. I've had them out almost every weekend and a couple times during the week about every other week.

Where are you located?

wow, thats awesome! sounds like you got a good deal too.
I looked around a little and almost all of them were going for around $900-$1000. each ,if they ran, without a trailor.
I'm sure yours are in way better shape then mine, the tigar shark is all sun faded.

Can you pull a tube/wakeboard with the jet ski? Have you tried it yet?

I'm in Southern NH. Where are you?

I haven't tried to pull anything yet, but I'm sure you could pull someone who's not too heavy.
I'm in NY just south of Rochester.

I saw some youtube videos of people towing some kids on a raft. Was wondering how well it did it.

Your in NY, thats cool. I bought them from a guy in Troy NY.

Where do you go to ride them? Do you go in the hudson river?

o wow, your below Lake Ontario. Is that where you go to ride them? That must be a blast.
I dont think your even close to the hudson river. I was thinking rochester was closer to vt.

I only have little lakes and rivers over here. Most of the lakes have slow speed limits too.: (

Have you been bothered by any of the marine patrol for anything? speeding/wake jumping? them just checking to see if you have a license and registration?

Any tips or pointers I should know/look out for?
Any qwerks spacific to the tigar shark?

Do you use premium gas? Or just the regular unleaded? 87 i think?
Any pros/cons to useing higher octane gas?
