Default Need Clarification on 98 TS 1000

Ok, I just bought this bike used. It's in good condition, and my first ski.

OIL: I've searched and found out what kind to use in the oil reservoir on this forum. BUT, I don't know much about 2 strokes. We really don't need to add CRANKCASE Oil? I seen that mentioned on this forum, but why is there a little hand screw at the top of the case that looks like an oil filler knob? You open it and you can see right into the case, with what looks to be a timing arrow and a good spot to add oil.

How does the engine get its oil? Is it just from the mix..or the does reservoir also feed the engine separately?

Thanks for the info. The Oil light is on, but the last owner says it's been on for 2 seasons and figures it's just a bad sensor.

So, I guess for clarification. The ONLY oil we add to the ski is into the oil reservoir?

Thanks,

Jimmy

Most pre-mix on here? Interesting. I've only ever done that when I store it for the winter. Never seem to have had a problem with the oil injection system on mine but I suppose it would provide a consistent supply of oil to the engine.
